Rev. Kari Valanne, of Finnish Lutheran background, was the second pastor called by the Leaf Rapids Ecumenical Parish in northern Manitoba in 1975-6 and served there for some years. He gave stability and substance to the emerging congregation and worked hard to relate to all the supporting denominations. I was unaware of the articles you wrote..

I hadn’t realized that you were involved in the formation of the Leaf Rapids congregation. I visited Kare Vallane (not sure of spelling) up there in 1979, approx, to write up his story for the Observer and for a couple of U.S. Lutheran magazines.
