I was recently in Uganda for 13 days with the express aim of supporting teen girls' education. I went after getting to know a fellow Ugandan Anglican called Nankunda Hope Mwijuka (Founder/ Team Leader- Raising Teenagers Uganda
Central Region Coordinator - Girls Not Brides Uganda Alliance.) I discovered a woman with a passion for helping girls get somewhere in life. She encourages them to stay in school, she talks to parents and she provides necessary reusable 'Afri-pads' so they are not staying home once a month. She sees many who can't afford secondary education so we are hoping to get interested people willing to subsidise the cost of being educated. From personal experience, Hope knows the value of As I see it CAPA 's work is in line with Hope's mission. she is part of a huge Anglican Church ,St Luke's in Kampala where over 1000 attended the service at 9.30am and well over 100 young children were blessed before going out to Sunday School. The joy in Jesus was contagious! I thank God for encouraging me to go and Bishop Linda Nichols of Diocese of Huron for her interest. I know we must be Jesus' hands and feet wherever the need is. We should share our gifts with our fellow human beings and, in so doing, spread the gospel of love..
