Why is the traditional church offering envelope both a useful tool and major stumbling block to financial support for parishes? This topic and others will be considered at a stewardship conference called Pushing the Envelope, April 24-26. Anglicans from the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario and Lutherans from the Eastern Synod will meet to discuss improving stewardship education for clergy and lay leaders at the parish level. The conference will take place at the Hockley Highlands Conference Centre, about 50 km northwest of Toronto. For further information, contact Rev. David Ponting, director of stewardship and financial planning at the diocese of Niagara at dponting@niagara.anglican.ca or call (905) 527-1316, ext. 360.
