Bishop David Ashdown will be leading an eight-day tour of the diocese of Keewatin in July that will also generate a charitable donation tax receipt for participants. The tour begins July 9 in Kenora with a dinner cruise on Lake of the Woods hosted by the dean of Keewatin. It continues on to Sioux Lookout, Kingfisher Lake, Muskrat Dam, Bearskin Lake and ends in Kenora on July 17 with dinner at the bishop’s residence. The tour includes visits with aboriginal communities, a mini-gospel jamboree on Sunday, July 13, a visit with students enrolled in an Anglican indigenous theology course at the Dr. William Winter School of Ministry, fishing and a traditional feast. The cost of the tour is $5,000, which includes a $2,500 donation and tax receipt for the diocese’s healing work with aboriginals.
