A November meeting of the Friends of the Archives of the Diocese of Ottawa was told by national archivist Ian Wilson that Canada’s National Archives will host an exhibit of documents and photographs relating to native residential schools.
Developed in collaboration with the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, various religious archives and the National Library, it will open in Ottawa on June 21, 2002 – National Aboriginal Day. It will close on Feb. 2, 2003. The healing foundation also plans to launch a travelling version of the exhibit. There will be a virtual version on the foundation’s Web site with a link to the National Archives and other relevant sites.
