Theological dialogue

On Friday, Oct. 17 (evening) and Saturday, Oct. 18 (day) the Anglican Centre for Theological Dialogue presents its fourth annual round-table discussion, entitled “Christ’s Return: Looking at the Third Reich,” at Christ Church Deer Park, Toronto. The discussion will examine loss of faith as seen in the mass compulsion to look for the Saviour in a human leader who promises a better world. We ask the question, “How can we free ourselves from this dangerous fascination and see Christ in a new way?” Speakers will be: Thayer Cluett, “Christ As Stranger;” Rev. Dr. Hugo Lautenbach (of the Swiss Reformed Church), “Secularism in Europe: A Worthy Fruit of Adult Christian Faith,” and Rev. Harold Macdonald, “Parousia and WWII.” Space is limited. Fees include lunch: $60-non-members, $54-members, $30-seniors / students / unwaged. For further information, contact Vicki Waspe at actd@sympatico.ca or call (416) 466-8337 or (416) 465-3158. Fax: (416) 466-4855.
